One of the major advantages to our training is the ability to follow along as we do flights and procedures via our saved flights, charts, and other information.

In order to do this, however, you’re going to need our repaint for the PMDG 737NGX. These files will not be supported for any other aircraft on the flightsim market.

(This Livery can only be downloaded by 737NGX Training Members)

How do you like the repaint? Any questions?

“As the training is just about to start, …”
    Yeah !

“Angle of Attack colors (or colours if you’re a Brit)”
    Or a Canadian. ;)

      Ziiiiiiing! True…

lol, dont forget about us Canadians.. :) colour not color, and cheque not check. :)

          and Australians :P

  • Trevor Bair

Definitely impressed with your livery design skills, Chris! Nice work!

  • Machie2

    Great news!!!

Fantastic training comming our way—I waited a bit for the PMDG 737NG, and it was worth it—I waited for 16 months for my Flying Tigers Group to rebuild after the Hack–now we will fl the new colors a bit and start the training when it is ready to start!!!

Thanks for the info on the Ezdoc–I really needed that bit of help

    Cheers

Have my Hangar ready for this new entry; my MD-11 was feeling lonely. I still plan to paint my Bonanza and submit to AOA. A lot less surface, so not that exensive a paint job. But I have lots to learn and this project is on the back-burner for now.

  • Anonymous

Nice, looking forward to the Paint.
Screenshot contest !?! That will be interesting.

  • Andystrat

    I love Screenshot contests :)

    Hi Chris,

how about including the LEVEL-D B-767 training along with the MD-11 Training in the contest for those of us who bought the MD-11 Training but, don’t own the LEVEL-D B-767 training?

I own the the LEVEL-D B-767 and may participate if the the LEVEL-D B-767 training was also included as an added incentive.

    Alex

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Yup, that’ll be fine too!

  • Bradley Bormuth

I clicked on the download link but I got an XML Error that said “The specified key does not exist.” Any help?

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Thanks! Now it’ll work!

  • RON

    Hi Chris,

I just downloaded the file, it appears to be a .ptp extension. What do I do with this?

    • Henrycwallace

You can install the livery using the livery manager included with the NGX. I also recommend visiting the PMDG downloads page and updating the livery manager to the latest version if you haven’t done so already!

      • RON

Thanks for the tip. I just downloaded the laterst livert mgr, but will install the livery tomorrow. I would assume the new livery mgr installed itself over the old version, because I opened the program and can’t tell which version is installed.

        • RON

Damn….I hate when I post with typos and can’t edit them….lol

      • RON

One more quick question. Is this a 737-700WL (winglets) livery? I want to make sure I install it correctly.

        • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

It’s an 800WL. No such thing as a 700WL from PMDG yet.

          • RON

Thanks, Chris…..I meant to say “800WL” (since obviously only the 800/900 is out right now). That’s what happens when I try responding in these forums while working my real job at the same time.

          • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

I figured as much ;) No harm no foul!

  • RonanC

    AWESOME! NICE work :D

  • Tomas Munoz

OK Guys, you did deliver today. Have just loaded without a hitch and I am opening FSX. Looks very nice. Now I can continue to wait for Ground School to convene.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Glad you enjoy it!

  • Oliver Donner

Wow, this repaint is looking awesome! Much better than the AOA repaint of the MD-11! Great job! But regarding the screenshot contest…I would like to participate, but my monitor is only at 1280*1024 so I am out of the contest….to bad!

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Glad you like it! It turned out really well. We were scared that once we took the design to the FS aircraft that it wouldn’t look right in 3D. But it looks better!

In another coincidence, I just created a Screenshot forum today…

  • Nick Watson

I am a member of the NGX training and I cannot see a download link here, am I doing something wrong?

    • Nick Watson

oh dw the text was the link, ma bad :P

  • Nick Watson

can the screenshot be edited to give it some nice effects?

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Nah, leave it unedited please. We’ll do the editing.

      • Nick Watson

no problem! Great work by the way, my Favorite AOA livery so far!

        • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

          Thanks!

  • fly safe

    Hi Chris,
    great – I like it!!

  • snake177

wow…this paintjob looks really great !
    good job!

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Thanks!

  • Andystrat

Does this screenshot have to be of the new livery you have provided? Or can we use any livery? Just want to be clear :)

    • Jeremy

      Andy,
I strongly think it should be AoA. It is their training and they are going to use the pics in it!

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Yes, it has to be with the new livery.

  • R Rotmans

Its nice…though i would use the original font foir the “Angle of Attack”….
“Angle”could be white and “of Attack” in orange with maybe a white line outside…
but its nice …really it is…
    best regards

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

The orange on top of the blue looks really weird. We had already tried that.

      • R Rotmans

thats why i said to put a small stroke over the orange….
or at least use the original font…
        just my honest opinion..

  • Dan Davison

I don’t have the hardware to do 1920×1080, nor will I any time soon. I guess I’m out of luck on this one. So it goes.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Sorry :/ We have pretty high standards on our media.

The livery looks good Chris. Thank you.

      • Anonymous

Chris, you should have put “Student Driver” on it (:

        • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Dude, that’s a really good idea! And yes, I just said ‘dude’ in a professional setting. What ya gonna do? Put a woopy cushion on my captains chair?

  • Tyrix

Unfortunately, I have a problem with this repaint. If I load it up, I end up IN the ground! The gear is down but in the exterior view the engines and everything below them are in the ground.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

This isn’t a repaint issue. Sounds like you’re simply in the wrong view.

      • Tyrix

Thanks for your answer but it was not my view ;)

As soon as I loaded the flight, FSX realized that I crashed the plane.. it was really burried into the ground. That problem occured suddenly and not after I installed the AOA Livery. I reinstalled the 737NGX and everything is fine now.

        Thanks

    • RON

You accidentally installed the AOA submarine livery. :-)

  • Peterp

Great job with the new colours, its up to the usual High AOA Standards

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Thank Peter!

  • Alex

Hello and thanks for the great livery. I have however difficulties in opening the downloaded file, which is a .ptp format. Can anyone help me how to proceed with it? Thanks a lot… Alex

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Maybe it’s already been said, but you use the PMDG 737 Livery Manager available in the Start Menu.

      • Alex

        Thanks a lot…stupid me!

      • Dave

The livery manager isn’t completing it :-(

  • Gary

Great colour scheme, like the design.
Please can you tell me where the dowmload facility is as I can’t find it.

      • Dlusty

Thanks for the reply Thomas. I am,however, confused. Where would I find this livery manager? When I click on the downloaded file I get a window from Windows saying I need a file association.
Then a lot of Sponsored sites to sell me a program to open the PTP file. I do not know of a livery manager.
        Dave

        • Mike Sierrahotel

Go to START……ALL PROGRAMS……PDMG, it’s the third item down the list, click to start…..browse to folder were you downloaded the AoA livery select file…click ok……..all done..;-)

        • Dlusty

I have found the Livery Manager.
Now to find out how to install the AOALivery. There is the box that wants one to indicate the file to be added but I have not found a way to place the AOAlivery file into that box. It does not seem to accept anything I have thrown at it.

I downloaded the new livery and it came as a .ptp file–I cant open this file and do not know where to put it–can someone give advice?

    Cheers

    Dorn

    • Henry Wallace

No need to open it! Just install the .ptp file via the livery manager that was included with the NGX and you are all set!

  • Michiel Wiegers

Ahum, I think i’m gonna win.. 3840 x 1024. Beautiful livery and i am using this for my training of course

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      Nice!

    or Irish lol

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Jordan Krushen

Haha.. basically anyone that uses proper English, not Americanese ;)

  • Jelmer

maybe an idea to add on this page that one should use the livery manager for installing the livery? I’ve seen the question on how to do it a few times now in these comments ;)

well, my night flight is just done, off to sleep now (00:15h here), hoping to wake up to some AOA training :)

Question: what format? Is .png accepted or bmp/jpg? Any photo editing (photoshopping)? I hope not, cause I don’t have any photo editor.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Any of those, no photoshopping please.

  • Scott Mcleod_23

I have no idea if my screenshots have downloaded as only 1/2 of the submit button appears and I get no indication that my files have downloaded. Is this normal?

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

I just fixed the submit button, but yeah, it should have worked.

  • Algexrnon

mind blown. what a paint job guys well done!

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

Thanks! One of my few visual contributions to this project. Nick and the boys generally do the rest, and in tip-top fashion I’ll add.

  • William Wilson

Is this for the 8 or 900?

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

      800. We’ll have the livery for every version though.

  • Martin

    Very cool guys !

Hi Chris, I submited three files 5760×1080. Not shure if they uploaded sucefully.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

I’ll have a look later and make sure.

  • Peter Simmons

Hi I cannot open the livery file once i’ve downloaded. What program do i open this file with please?

    • Anonymous

Livery manager. You have it installed in your PMDG folder.

  • George

I have just downloaded the AOA repaint, and then using the PMDG livery manager, I select the file to install on the NGX 800. The program starts to extract the file and then stops working – any thoughts? I have tried several times and get the same outcome.

  • Tomas Muñoz

Chris I posted 3 shots yesterday from a link to my HD. Can you confirm they were received?
    Thanks
    Tomas

    • Tomas Munoz

Can someone from Customer Service or AOA please answer my question. I am afraid the shots were not uploaded since it was not a public link. But, I don’t know any service that provides uploads of the high resolutions required.
I would think 3 days is enough to expect an answer.

      • Tomas Munoz

I wonder why Customer Service is so responsive? Forever waiting. Why is this?

  • Evytonita

Hi, can i ask what videocard people recomend for fsx? I have an ATI 5850 card but im not happy with it. What card would you people recomend….?

    • G7usl

Your card should cope very well. I run the 5770 and it’s great.
If your still getting problems, upgrade your processer or RAM.

  • George

Just had another attempt at installing the AOA livery and am experiencing the same problem. I re-downloaded the livery, opened the PMDG livery manager, clicked on the 800NGX aircraft variant, them clicked on the install livery button, navigated to the downloaded file – I get a message saying that it is extracting the file – but it just freezes and eventually I get an error message saying that PMDG livery manager has stopped working. Anyone with any thoughts as to how I can resolve this problem?

    • George

I found the answer on another forum – if you are using vista or windows 7 you need to run the livery manager as the administrator. Just right click the livery manager and select ‘run as administrator’ and that solves all the problems.

  • Mark

    Hi Guys,
    Just a quick question.
Does this livery work post sp1? or does it make no difference
    cheers

    • Nishan

I have the same question as Mark, but hard to get a reply here it seems.

    • Brendan

      Any replies to this question?
