We’ve been tossing around the idea of doing a series of tutorials that are available to the public for free. These will be separate from our complete and full product, but will give you a much better idea of what we’re offering vs years past.

What we’d like you to do super quick is to give us some things you’re interested in learning about the 737. Keep in mind these are mini-topics and not full on HUGE topics which will be covered in our complete and full video training product.

Some ideas to get your creative juices going:

  • Boeing 737 History
  • Quick Emergency Explained
  • 737 NG Quirks
  • Screenshot Posts
  • Video Posts

Truth is, we aren’t void of ideas. We just want to shoot out some stuff to you guys that you actually want. We know you’ll love this stuff anyway, but it’s better for us all to be on the same level of communication here, right? You wouldn’t talk to ATC on the wrong frequency, so why don’t we stay on the same frequency?

Really simple to submit. One box, one idea or several, and one place for us to collect them all.

Thanks!

Throttle On!

    Hey Chris,

I just pushed the “submit button” with a few ideas I had.

I just realized that the Products section has been updated for the 737NG training! Its literally “jaw dropping” stuff. And is that a sneak peak at the AOA Livery? Looks awesome. The inclusion of a systems section is really great and with 9 full flights, its certainly going to make for some lengthy training which I personally love.

Im super excited and behind this all the way. Looking forward for a lot to come.

Our little secret ;) We’ll let people run across it while we continue getting some things worked out on that page. And yes, that is a sneak peak of the livery.

Free Aviator 90 link error. Just sent a couple of requests/ideas

    Hey Chris!

I don’t have any idea for you now, unfortunately, but I’d like to ask you something. I was reading the new NGX Training page (have to say that I got very impressed by what I read there!) and started to think about whether the AoA Team have plans for a tutorial at Santos Dumont (SBRJ), Rio de Janeiro, to demonstrate the capabilities of the 737-800SFP. As you may know, GOL Airlines requested the SFP to Boeing to improve safety when operating in that airport and in Congonhas (SBSP) as well, so it would be nice to have a tutorial in where the idea came from.

We are going to have a wide variety of different areas that we’ll be able to cover in the Linework training, since we’ll be doing flights there monthly. Should be really cool to see all those different areas and situations. The scenario you’re talking about sounds pretty dang awesome!

Does SFP stand for short field performance? I’m not familiar with that -800. I know that in previous versions of PMDG aircraft they seem to have those type of options. Sounds very cool!

      • Matheus

Yup, that’s it. Ryan himself said in PMDG Forums that he is thinking of doing an advanced tutorial here. He was trying to find a GOL captain with experience in SBRJ to ask some questions. Here’s what he said:

“I’m thinking about using SBRJ for an NGX advanced tutorial and I’m wondering if we have anyone here with experience on the 800 SFP at the airport… I’d like to ask some questions about the restrictions and procedures used in taking off from such a short runway if anyone’s out there. [...]”

A tutorial from PMDG would be great, but one in video from AoA would be awesome. It has very challenging approaches, either to runway 02R or 20L, because a tight traffic pattern is required. When you land at 02R, you get a beautiful view of the Sugar Loaf on the right while turning to final. I’ve tried to land at SBRJ a few times but never succeeded. The turn is the problem to me. I always ended up either overshooting the runway, descending too fast or not descending at all.

Sounds great! It’ll be cool to see a lot of these unique ideas come out as we get closer to making those videos a reality.

  • Fred Fokken

Yes, good idea! Can’t wait to start this training. I just have my new computer. Awesome!
I did the Benchmark of FSMark11 with Fraps and came out second best so far with an average of 48,3 fps. Posted my score on their forum and still didn’t overclock my CPU.
I am going for a 3 weeks Holiday and will start building up my configuration afterwards. (2 networked pc’s) Because I absolutely want to be ready for the 737ng training.
    Cool….

Awesome! That sounds like a really nice machine.

    Dear Chrise
Please make it as real as possible in real aviation world.complete.
As a real pilot does in the plain and in simulator training.ofcourse inconnection with other panel(first officer). That makes your training DVD a valuable one.
you did not use stand by instruments in 767 Level D.using Stand by attitute while in ILS approach or LOC/BACOURSE or in LOC and …
Please explain when we must use ADF while we are on ILS approch and …
Make you DVD the best ever please
    Thanks Joshu

  • AVRAY

    Hi, Chris,
As a fairly new “boy” to flight simulation (and your forum) the idea of having a cockpit
training schedule, via an animated cursor, indicating the order of instruments to be used in to commence start-up procedure, etc., appeals to me. This would make it easier for characters like me to grasp concepts, etc., of airliner flights.
    Just a thought.
I find your website excellent, and love the tutorial videos.

How about you actually teach people how to fly the plane? Your training products for the 737 only look at the systems or are some random videos of you flying the plane. Why don’t you teach us how to fly it rather than wasting our time with videos of you flying the plane? If I wanted to see that I would go to YouTube.

    • No Cigar

I guess you would be too embarrassed to do that anyway. It’s not a good look when you tailstrike while teaching someone to take off in the MD11.

      • http://www.flyaoamedia.com/ Chris Palmer

Right, when did we do that? Never. That’s right. Move along.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com/ Chris Palmer

a@gmail.com, eh? Not man enough to put your real email? We are doing training for the 737 and it is NOT some random youtube video of someone watching us fly. This is the only comment of yours I’m going to respond to, so let me be very clear. You aren’t welcome here if you have the kind of attitude you have right now. Go elsewhere. We like to spend our time with people that actually know what it is we do here at AOA and what we represent. Judging by your statements you don’t really care to take the time to know. So, man up and play nice or leave. Pretty simple.

What to do if only if the rear gear comes down, or the front.

    • http://www.flyaoamedia.com Chris Palmer

You’ll need to do an alternate gear extension.
