View Time= 3 Minutes

I’ve been a huge proponent of the fact that there is actually a human behind the mic of air traffic controllers. Contrary to popular belief, these humans do exist- and they have a sense of humor!

Here is a great video of a guy named ‘John’ who does the tower frequency every once and a while in Boston (he’s a supervisor now).

A few things I really like is how he said ‘Jeeeeet BLUUUUUUUE’ every time, how he makes a few personal greetings here and there, and also the fact that he’s actually a great controller at the same time.

Enjoy this video!

Did you enjoy this video? Please comment about cool controllers you’ve met or heard of.

Heard this guy quite a few times flying into BOS for CHQ. Awesome guy, always seems to raise the spirits up in the flightdeck. We’d always seem to have a good laugh when we’d hear him do other transmissions.

Right on. It’s always nice to hear people enjoying their jobs.

Living just south of KBOS, I listen quite a bit to the tower and I have not heard this guy. I sure hope VATSIM has someone like this !!

At a MICROwings conference in Dalas I got to spend some time in the tower at Love field. Pretty intense those folks work hard at what they do.

    Thanks for a fun listen

      You’re welcome, Tom.
Controllers work very hard and are good at what they do. I got the chance to spend about an hour and a half talking to my uncle, a center controller here in the states (the top type of controller) and I got a lot of good information and insight as to what happens behind the scenes.

      Pretty cool stuff!

    Crazy talk.
Whatever keeps your sanity in a really pressurised job.
Oh the world would be a duller place without characters like him

      Totally agreed.
