Today’s Flight Plan

We come to the end of the Commercial Rating, closing a journey that has spanned quite a while. Now, hear about the Commercial Checkride experience in addition to “What Makes a Professional Pilot”. Having been away from the Commercial Rating now for a few weeks, I’ve had some time to process all that happened. I know share those final thoughts.

Left to Right: Michael Phillips, Chris Palmer, Dennis Magdaleno.

Congratulations with your commercial certificate. Beyond well deserved! 👍

Infact, the most common for failure to achieve any goal, especially flying certificates, is giving up due to “challenges” encountered. One attribute a professional pilot should have is NOT easily giving up. Obviously a important skill in an emergency.

    Congratulations on the CPL!
I’m only just starting out, and accidentally jumped from podcast 12 to 99 due to the player, so great to hear you got there!

For me, I’ve only just had my TIF and first set of intro lessons, so I find this all really inspiring! For me the next year or two is going to be just saving and flying as and when I can so that I can afford regular lessons to get my PPL in an affordable time frame. I found your challenging questions really, really helpful. I’ve had the conversation with my wife, and asked those questions. For me knowing that the next couple of years is going to be tough – saving, studying, practicing on sims, even going swimming twice a week to stay in shape for the medicals, and really, doing all that to not spend much time flying right away I think will really test my resolve.
