Kick the Tires and Light the Fires

Sometimes it is time to get in the dang airplane and go!

I know there are a ton of cool little tools out there that you want to use in your flightsim. But sometimes, too much planning keeps  you on the ground longer, with little benefit to the actual flight.

Stop wasting your time with the latest AIRAC update, planning the perfect VFR flight, or preflighting the airplane in flightsim, when you know the aircraft is already perfect.

Get in the plane and go! There’s a ton to learn from flying with this mentality.

If you don’t believe me, go and read Charles Lindbergh’s book, “We”. That guy did his share of planning, but he was also incredibly intelligent in the skies and ‘on the fly’, pun intended.

There’s something to be said for ‘Kicking the Tires and Lighting the Fires’.

Today, don’t plan your flight. Decide where you want to start, where you want to end, and GO!

That’s an Order!

Next time the tires touch, they will be landing in VCE Marco Polo (Italy). Grazie mio fratello.

I’ll do it on my next flight, won’t be today I’m currently doing YSSY-RJAA on a PMDG 747 to see in what level my knowledge is. I mean, I actually love all the planning but I’ll try this with a light plane and see where it will take me too ;)
