We really are here…

Read Time= 1 Minute

Lately I’ve been working a TON of AviatorPro stuff, but for you guys not on the inside of AviatorPro, it’s difficult to see the progress that we’ve been making since the end of Aviator90.

I just wanted to shoot a quick blog post and let you guys know that although it may seem we have ‘gone away’, we are here and stronger than ever.

I guess I feel a need to explain myself because if I follow a blog that doesn’t update regularly and doesn’t really take the whole content thing seriously, I’m less likely to stick around.

In all honesty, I’ve seen a bit of a drop-off in numbers since the end of Aviator90, although many people are still viewing it, so it just concerned me a bit.

I’m going to be doing my best to still offer the community great, FREE content but my main focus right now is the Trainees within AviatorPro. They are paying customers now and they are getting a ton of content each week, so it’s important I stay on top of that first.

Other than that, be looking out for more frequent free posts.

Is there anything in particular you’d like to learn or see?

Hi Chris,

I’ve been a bit confused like others concerning the different email lists I am subscibed to. But don’t worry about the dropping off of numbers in this list. We’ve all changed over to AviatorPro, didn’t we? And if there’s anybody out there who hasn’t changed over to AviatorPro yet I strongly advise that! We get valuable content there and it’s great fun to receive weekly updates of different kind: blogs, videos (real and flightsim videos), podcasts. I highly appreciate it that you concentrate on that and everyone who has not yet subscribed to your courses should consider to do it soon.
Always keep the blue side up.
And throttle on.

Thanks for the big plug, Christian. I believe AviatorPro is the best thing we’ve done. It’s hard to prove it without showing it to everybody, though. I’m trying to work on communicating that better. Any ideas?

Anyway, thanks for being around. It’s a huge pleasure.

BTW, I think I’m doing the flight you suggested in the ‘Choose the Next Flight’ for AviatorPro. Were you the one that picked CYVR to CYSP (or something like that)?

Hey Chris,

yeah, something like that… ;-) CYSP should be pretty far away from CYVR for a VFR flight. Perhaps we can come back to that later when practising long route IFR flights. ;-)

But I think you were right and it’s just a little typo: I suggested to fly from CYVR Vancouver to CYPS Pemberton. Should be a nice VFR flight with FSAddon’s Vancouver+ and depending on the weather conditions. And I’d love to see that flight in AviatorPro!

I think your Aviator90 gift was already a great promotion and a lot of attention has been drawn to your offers and your website. Even German flightsim magazines published articles or NOTAMS concerning your services. Indeed perhaps we shoud spread the word of mouth that AviatorPro is a further stage and huge advancement. What about publishing a free AviatorPro episode every now and then? (Computer Pilot magazine uses this giving away free pdf magazins from time to time.)
And BTW: do you have connections to Computer Pilot magazine? Perhaps you are able to place some words there.
Your cooperation with ORBX (promoting their PNW scenery by the way) seems to be particularly promising. Perhaps this might be extended?
Just a few thoughts…

Cheers

Great thoughts, Christian!
There are SO many places to promote AviatorPro, Aviator90 and our other stuff. Even that fact that we have a very lively blog here.

The trouble for me has been time. I’ve had more of it lately by being able to hire some part time help to assist me with everyday tasks and editing, but I still have a large workload.

I think the real trick is, ‘How do we really show people how great AviatorPro Is?’ without giving them the content!

It’s like trying to explain to someone who has never tasted ice cream what it tastes like and what the texture feels like. NEAR IMPOSSIBLE.

So, I’m certainly open to all of these ideas you have suggested.

As a sidenote, I will be doing your flight. That episode of AviatorPro will be out tomorrow.

Although we primarily do IFR flights in there, I want to show people why this particular flight won’t work for IFR, and then we’ll fly it VFR anyway ;)

Should be a lot of fun!

I know that time is a scarce thing. I do feel this every day as well. Unfortunately I often enough lack the time for flightsimming. Not to speak of real flying which is still a dream to dream for me…

I’ve another thought about spreading the word of mouth: what about a forum banner for AviatorPro Supporters that we can use in other forums? (Or does this already exist and I missed it…?) I’m around in many flightsimming communities and refrained from signing with all those PMDG, REX, LEVEL-D etc. banners so far. But as I’m really big on your stuff I’ll make an exception and would like to carry an AviatorPro banner. (Unfortunately I’ve no time to design one…)

Very cool to fly my route in the next episode! Thanks a lot. And of course I know that we already do a lot of IFR flying. I just wanted to point out that it is a long route flight to CYSP which is Marathon in Ontario, Canada (and not to be mixed up with CYPS). ;-)

Already enjoying the next episode!

Yes, just going to Pemberton ;) Short little hop.

Not a bad idea on the banner! Maybe we could even offer points for doing that ;)

Love the idea of the banner. A great way to show your support for a great programme!

re ways of promoting AvPro. I’m sure subscribers would not be offended if you were to put together a 5 minute or so feature that included snippets from various episodes. Not enough to tell the full story, but just enough to wet the appetiite.

I actually plan on doing this in several days. That way we can show people that AOA still knows how to make videos (as if there were any question ;) )

Hi Chris,

How about filming real IFR approaches and holding patterns. The episode of flying to Nebraska was great due to it being a real flight. Seeing real approaches and hearing ATC during IFR would be sweet too.
